Happy 2012!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and that your New Years celebrations did not leave you feeling too hung over. As last year was winding down I began to think of the year ahead, the start of 2012 means a lot of things for me. Chief among them, I am officially done with my 365 Project. For two years, over 700 days, I took one photograph to represent my day in a mini blog I shared on Facebook. I decided if I was able to be camera ready for 700 consecutive days that I could stay on top of a regular good old fashioned blog then. To mark the occasion, I wanted to do a redesign, change the address and even the name.
Speaking of the name, you’re probably thinking “God Brian is so vein. Thinking his blog is the best.” But, its not just vanity. My initials are actually BEST – Brian Edward Stephen Tuft. The people at LL Bean did not believe me. But, Edward is my middle name after my Godfather and Stephen is the name I chose for Confirmation. It always gets a pretty funny reaction when people realize, so I thought why not take this fun thing and run with it. I thought it was pretty clever and that the name BEST Blog had a nice flow to it. The name change ties in with the fact that, the direction of my blog changed since I launched a few years ago. At one time this blog was a place for me to post my Carrie Bradshaw-esq essays that most bloggers usually write at some point. Lately, the content has changed and I’ve been posting the latest happenings, gossip, my take on things and product recommendations. And I figured that when I post about a new television show or my favorite new accessories for Spring I don’t give you any take on it. I give you the BEST take on it. Thus, BEST Blog was born. Don’t worry though, the occasional Carrie style essay will still pop up from time to time I’m sure.
I’m really excited about this coming year, I’ll be turning 25. For a while, I was convinced a quarter life crisis was looming. However, after some reflection and examination I realized I may not be where I thought I would be, but I am on track and working towards it which is something I am very proud of. To keep myself on the right track, I have come up with some homework and a little project I’ll be launching this month. I hope you’ll keep reading, and see what I have in store. And, I also hope that this coming year is a wonderful, healthy, successful year for all of us.
As Oprah says, Cheers to a New Year. And, to another chance at getting it right!
Congrats on the new blog! What will your new project be?
Thanks KC, its a bucket-list type thing. I compiled a list of things to accomplish before my 26th birthday – 3.26.2013. I’m really excited about it, and all the deets will be posted on Friday.
